The Coley Marimba Artist Practicum and The Composer LabFest IV: Writing for Mallet Quartet feature:

• The Coley Artist Practicum is for beginner to advanced marimba/keyboard percussion players.

• The Composer LabFest is for composers at the college level and above.

• A week-long intensive workshop & festival with

  • Composer - Performer Collaboration

  • Multiple world premiere opportunities.

  • Lessons and performances with distinguished HM artists.

  • Career Enhancement

  • Community Outreach Experience

  • Integrated cross-disciplinary enhancement: performing works based on visual art and learning skills for collaborating with dance.

Tuition: $850 (includes $75 registration fee) for CLF4 and CAP1

(Travel and housing will be the responsibility of the participant. HM will help reserve affordable housing and will provide transportation during the practicum and to and from airports.)

In exchange for Heartland Marimba administrative assistance, scholarships are available. Please reach out.

Registration for CLF4 and CAP1 begins on January 15, 2026.
